An opportunity to create, rehearse, and perform
in an accessible and inclusive environment -- now online!
Theatre on the Spectrum — Theatre with a purpose!
Theatre on the Spectrum is the performance wing of The Center for Applied Drama and Autism
Are you a disabled and/or autistic actor or writer looking for an active group that practices inclusive and accessible theatre? Send us an email and tell us about your interest. We are currently seeking plays for a one act play festival and will be holding online auditions to produce these plays in 2021.
The focus of the program is to produce work by autistic and disabled writers while creating opportunities to improve as actors. Now completely operating online due to concerns brought about by the pandemic, our actors meet safely in Zoom to rehearse and perform.
Theatre provides a safe space for practicing the ability to self-advocate, follow directions, collaborate, and to create and meet deadlines. Through role play, theatre games, mask work and character study, participants strengthen their social and emotional awareness.
This program leads the way in demonstrating the power of inclusive theatre. We offer live online workshops for schools and non-profits interested in learning more about creating accessible theatre programs for youth and adults.
